Why a Latvian partner
Latvia is a Widening country. Consortia need the geographic spread, the national stakeholder access and the dissemination reach. There has not been an obvious place to look for it here. We would like to be that place.
What we can lead
Evaluation and oversight research
Empirical work on how frontier systems behave and how anyone would know if they stopped behaving. We scope it to what a small team can finish, and we publish it.
Dissemination, exploitation and communication
The work packages consortia treat as an afterthought and then lose points on. We write in both languages and we know which national channels actually reach anyone.
National stakeholder engagement
Ministries, supervisory bodies and universities, in a country small enough that the relevant people fit in one room.
AI Act conformity and fundamental-rights impact
Analysis against the regulation as written, including the parts member states are still working out for themselves.
Ethics requirements and deliverables
The ethics appraisal work that arrives after the grant is signed and that nobody budgeted for.
